Strokovni posvet o tehnologiji čistih prostorov

Ljubljana, 15. september 2025

FIRST SYMPOSIUM ON CLEANROOM TECHNOLOGY IN SLOVENIA

Participants of the first symposium on cleanroom technology "It is time for Slovenia to take a step forward in the development and education of cleanroom technology," organized by the Slovenian Cleanroom Society (SCS) on September 15, 2025 in Ljubljana (Slovenia), pointed out the urgent steps that would enable the implementation of extensive investment plans for the Slovenian economy in the coming years, as well as opportunities for the further development of cleanroom technology. They concluded that the key challenge in Slovenia is to provide basic specific knowledge in the field of cleanroom technology and to ensure access to this knowledge in the formal education system.

Key opportunities are opening up particularly in pharmacy, biotechnology, and healthcare. In the coming years, leading international companies in these industries are planning development projects in Slovenia with a total value of more than two billion euros. These large-scale projects will require fundamental knowledge and skills in cleanroom technology, and more professionals with knowledge and skills in the field will be needed than are currently available.

Closer cooperation between key stakeholders is essential to ensure enough competent experts. The symposium participants set themselves the goal of deepening the integration of the economy, science, and education while also calling on the state to cooperate. At the event, they signed a commitment to long-term cooperation between SCS and SZE - the Slovenian Energy Association.

The symposium, the first event in Slovenia in cleanroom technology at such a high level, was hosted by the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and attended by more than 120 representatives from the economy, science, healthcare, and state institutions. Under the working title "Establishing a comprehensive knowledge ecosystem for clean rooms in Slovenia", which is one of the key objectives of the SCS association alongside networking and developing long-term partnerships, participants discussed the economic significance of cleanroom technology and the strategic opportunities offered by this industry, the HR situation, education and knowledge for the future, and issues related to technologies, innovations, and regulatory framework.
